High School Coding Workshop

When: Fall 2017
Where: Pioneer High School

This workshop will be an experience for high schoolers to learn the basis of coding and create a project by the end. We want all high schoolers to have an opportunity outside of the classroom to learn basic coding skills which will then able to build upon. We will have step by step guidance for each student to follow at their own pace and help will be available throughout the event. Students from the University of Michigan will be teaching the fundamentals of programming, and high school students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to build their own website!

We will have a step by step tutorial to build from the bottom up because we do not expect anyone to come in with prior knowledge.
We will have a step by step tutorial on how to build a website and will have college students walking around for you guys to ask for help! We got your back at ArborHacks
We will have a beginner and advance section for this event so if you have some prior knowledge, you can jump into the advanced section and add more to your knowledge base
We're not sure yet, but there might be computers available for you to use.
We want everyone to go home with their own website but you can definitely work together if you get stuck
There will be many chances to get to know and work with other hackers, even if you first have to meet them, we'll be sure to help you out!
You can take a break to walk around and talk to others. You can mingle with the college students and get some insight on your future and/or have your questions answered.
Pioneer High School is at 603 W. Stadium Blvd. The workshop will be in the Cafeteria Annex and you can get there from the entrance by the clock tower, turn into Pioneer from Stadium.
We would love to have you for the whole event, but if you have to leave, just let an AH college coordinator (in a gray quarter zip with their names on the back) know
The founders of ArborHacks attended MHacks 2 as seniors in high school, and to put it simply, it blew their minds. We want to make sure other people get to have a similarly amazing and inspiring experience.
